About Knox Photo Images
Jim Knox
I have had an interest in photography since I was a teenager. Now that my children have reached adulthood and have moved on to raise their own childern, I have devoted much of my spare time to improving my photographic skills. I have read about photography and studied images taken by published professional photographers. I have taken classes and participated in workshops. Most important, I have exposed countless frames of film and shot countless digital captures. Photography, however, is a part time avocation for me. I maintain a full time position as an accountant that helps to fund my passion for photography and my passion for being outdoors, preferably in the woods when time allows.

Bowie Crofton Camera Club
In 1999, I was fortunate to join the Bowie Crofton Camera Club. I have learned much about photography by observing the magnificent images created by fellow club members. Those many images combined have provided me with a goal of excellence that I continue to strive to reach. What a fantastic and talented group of amature and professional photographers the BCCC club members are. My heart felt "thank you" goes out to my fellow club members for all of the knowledge that they have shared with me.

Nature and The Hand of Man
Some photographers choose to exclude from the classification "nature photography" any image that includes anything created by the hand of man. I find that definition of nature photography unnecessarily restrictive. If, for example, a photograph of a group of flowers happens to include a path, a fence, or a painted rock, it was nature that created the beauty of the flowers, not the hand of man.
